Teen Hollywood Club Back-to-School Celebration
The KEWL team was out late this summer in the heat for a cool back-to-school event! It was a benefit for Operation Smile put on by Teen Hollywood. There were a lot of fun performances like Small Change as well as tons of celebs on hand to sign autographs and take pictures with fans, like Zachary and Oren Williams and Tyler Neitzel!
KEWL helped sponsor the event and brought out tons of mags to share with everyone! Sammi Hanratty of The Suite Life of Zack and Cody grabbed one as well as the Disney Surfer himself, Michael Petersen.
We met Kay Panabaker who told us that she is starting her last senior year at UCLA this fall and will graduate in the spring. Oh, and she’s only 17 years old! Even if she wasn’t working full time, that would be amazing but when you think about all of the projects she’s done over the past few years, like Hannah Montana, Nancy Drew, Phil of the Future, Read It and Weep, and of course Summerland, it’s really hard to imagine the kind of intensity and focus this girl must have for in her life. She’s really amazing and doesn’t look a day over 14!
The adorable Rosso Twins, Becky and Milly were signing autographs and having a good ol’ time. Their new movie, Legally Blondes will be coming to video next year. The girls star in this fun comedy and will surely be the beginning of a long career of starring roles for them. They’ve already appeared in 6 episodes of The Suite Life and have even admitted to thinking that the Sprouse Twins are cute! And Vincent Martella of Everybody Hates Chris was there looking sporty.
Teen Hollywood focuses on finding new talent and helping those who are interested figure it all out! There was a panel discussion with a bunch of kids and they all talked about their experience with show biz and how long it took them to break into the industry. It’s definitely not easy and requires a firm belief in yourself. You can take all the lessons in the world but without confidence, it’s a long and difficult road to success.
We’re curious how many of you out there are interested in pursuing careers in acting and what are you doing to make that happen? Are you taking any lessons of any kind? Practicing acting skills at school? Singing in the school choir? Watching a lot of TV to study someone else? We want to know!
